My name is Tunbosun Omojola, a Tech Recruiter and HR at Talent Hackers (USA.
 

2. What sparked your interest in software development, and what motivated you to join our boot camp? 

I'm driven by a passion for problem-solving and creativity. I want to build web applications that address real-world needs and make a positive impact. This boot camp offers the perfect opportunity to acquire the necessary skills, learn from experts, and turn my ideas into reality.
 

3. Can you share a little about your background and how it relates to your decision to pursue a career in tech?

With a background in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, I've always had a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving. However, my passion for technology and innovation led me to pivot towards a career in tech.
 

During my engineering days, I realised that many problems required technological solutions, and I became fascinated with the potential of technology to transform industries and lives. My business education further emphasised the importance of leveraging technology to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth.
 

The decision to pursue a career in tech was born out of this passion to solve problems and make a meaningful impact. I'm excited to apply my unique blend of engineering and business skills to drive technological advancements and create innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.


 

4. What were your expectations from the boot camp, and did it meet or exceed them?

Before joining the boot camp, I had high expectations for intensifying my skills in web development, particularly with React and Node.js. I'm pleased to say that the program not only met but exceeded my expectations.
 

The boot camp provided an ideal blend of theoretical foundations and hands-on experience, allowing me to deepen my understanding of web development principles and best practices. The curriculum was well-structured, and the instructors were knowledgeable and supportive.
 

Specifically, I appreciated the in-depth coverage of React and Node.js, which significantly enhanced my proficiency in building robust and scalable web applications. The program also offered valuable opportunities for collaboration, feedback, and networking with fellow developers.


 

Overall, I'm satisfied with the knowledge and skills I've gained, and I feel more confident in my ability to tackle complex web development projects. The boot camp has been a valuable investment in my professional growth, and I look forward to applying my new skills in real-world scenarios.
 

5. Which programming language or technology did you find most interesting or rewarding to learn?

I found JavaScript, React, and Node.js most rewarding to learn.

JavaScript's versatility, React's component-based architecture, and Node.js's scalability make them a powerful combination for building dynamic web applications.

Mastering these technologies has boosted my confidence in creating real-time, interactive user experiences.
 

6. How has your career progressed since completing the boot camp? Any notable achievements or milestones?

Post-boot camp, I pivoted into tech recruitment, leveraging my software development background to excel in this field. Notable achievements include:

  • Successfully matching top talent with ideal roles
  • Developing niche expertise in hard-to-find technical skills
  • Enhancing recruitment processes through data-driven approaches

My technical foundation has differentiated me in tech recruitment, making me a trusted advisor for clients and candidates alike.


 

7. What advice would you give to someone considering a career transition into software development?

Transitioning into software development requires grit, resilience and patience. Cultivate a can-do spirit, trust divine guidance and focus on progress. Learn fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), specialise, build projects and network. Update transferable skills, tailor resumes and prepare for interviews. Stay adaptable, humble and grateful, trusting divine timing (Proverbs 3:5).
 

8. What skills or knowledge do you think are essential for success in software development?
 

Software development success requires technical skills like programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript), algorithms and data structures, database management, cloud computing and Agile methodologies. Additionally, essential soft skills include problem-solving, communication, adaptability, continuous learning and analytical thinking.
 

9. What's the most important lesson you learned from the boot camp that you apply daily?

‘Keep moving’.
 

10. What motivates you to continue learning and growing as a software developer?

Transitioning into tech recruiting hasn't diminished my passion for coding. My intrinsic motivation stems from childhood: an unwavering determination to succeed. I firmly believe that with resilience, dedication and the right mindset, no challenge is insurmountable.
 

11. If you could create any software application or tool, what would it be and why?

A talent scouting platform facilitating seamless discovery and recruitment of skilled professionals, empowering businesses to excel.
